Bismillah
"Only old Benjamin professed to remember every detail of his long life and to know that things never had been, nor ever could be, much better or much worse - hunger, hardship and disappointment being, so he said, the unalterable law of life."
Im becoming more of a realist thanks to this book....
Alhamdulillah
Benjamin Franklin ?
ReplyDeleteNot sure if the author was using the character as reference to Benjamin is the old mule in the story. The character is one of a wise elderly that just took on an observer view of everything happening around him simply because he knows that life goes on and history tends to repeat itself. Even when everyone was so optimistic about the change in leadership he was the only one with "let's see what will happen" attitude. Neither happy nor sad at the change. Because he knows change can only be good or bad based on the results it achieves.
