Of future hopes

Bismillah

It's been a long time since I've updated. Once again i am 'busy' trying to get my act together. Exams are around the corner and every free time i get is spent either sleeping/helping mum/lazing on the couch. Neither of which is helping me improve my studies.

Plus I've picked up reading light novels again. Ah, romance in story books are such great fun when you have no such romance yourself. I also recently purchased George Orwell's 1984 although after reading the first chapter I was quite amazed at how it resembles a novel I once read about some bizarre country where girls disguised as guys went to war. It was weird but I didn't expect to find it similar to Orwell's novel. It's similar not in the issue of women at war but the concept of putting out a political point through framing his story one with a non-existent place and using different names for the 'political party' he is against during his time. Still I would have rather read Animal Farm (just coz the latter seemed to be a far more interesting read).

Somehow every time I listen to japanese songs it reminds me of the times I was in highschool trying to cram knowledge in my head and do assignments late at night. It's lovely to listen to songs whose meaning you have no understanding whatsoever. It doesn't bother your concentration too much and provides for some background to my life (especially during office hours).

Not really much to write about since my life isn't all that interesting now that I work but one incident might be worth mentioning. I went to an Islamic talk held in UMS a week ago. It was about love and where I thought it was Love for the Almighty it was instead love for His creations. I went with jeans and was confronted with a swarm of Muslimah in the typical jubah and baju kurung. Man...it was awkward.
Later on, i just remembered that women and men sit separately and had to sit away from my brother. His phone was broken and throughout the entire talk I had no way of contacting him. Wondering how I was to contact him was not the way I planned to sit through the talk.
At the end of the day I had to walk by the men section to look for my brother because my mum was already telling me to get home. Talk about so much embarrassment in one day. Next time it would be best if i did not attend such talk last minute and without even knowing what the talk was about.

Alhamdulillah

p.s. I was so looking forward to a talk with a much more deeper topic. Sigh.
